On March 22, 2015, Encounter Church was planted in Mission Viejo, California.  Our desire is to see genuine encounters with the living God because only a living God can produce radically transformed lives – lives that are marked by the fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and self-control.

As we pursue our mission, everything we do as a church will center around FIVE specific things we want to accomplish in the life of each and every person that calls Encounter their home.

Encountering God

When you have a genuine encounter with the life-changing God, your life will never be the same. God loves you and is crazy about you.  He desires a deep relationship with you.

loving relationships

We welcome people like family and love and support one another in everyday life.

Radical Transformation

God’s love transforms us and His Spirit produces fruit in us that will last.  Fruit described in Galatians produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control.

Generous Lives

Committed and overwhelmingly generous with our time, talent and treasure.

Life on Mission

We as individuals and as the church will share the love of Christ to others to see God's kingdom come on earth.

Inviting people to encounter a life-changing God and become passionate followers of Christ

God’s plan is to advance his Kingdom through the local church.  God has given us a clear vision for the city of Mission Viejo to minister to families, schools and through music. We are following through on this vision of service and ministry by starting at the school we meet at weekly, Philip Reilly Elementary School to impact Mission Viejo, Orange County, and the world. To see this vision fulfilled will require commitment from a broad range of followers of Jesus and we invite you to join us. God is so good and big! HE is able to accomplish more than we could ever ask or hope!

FAMILIES

We have a specific call to empower families to be the loving and supportive framework that God created - to raise children as disciples who love God and love others. Our desire is to see God’s wholeness, health and balance come to each family, and to see the divorce rate drastically reduced.

SCHOOLS

We are called to come alongside schools by serving and supporting principals, teachers and staff that serve the nearly 20,000 children enrolled in Mission Viejo schools starting right where we meet at Philip Reilly Elementary School

MUSIC

The gift of music evokes emotion, artistry, and creativity. Our goal is to provide a creative environment for musicians to rehearse, form relationships, and to bless our community with the gift of music.

WE BELIEVe

In the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and in the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith such as: salvation, healing, the Second Coming of Christ, the various ministries of the Holy Spirit, and the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper and water baptism.

WE BELIEVe

In God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

WE BELIEVE

In the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.

We believe that the term ‘marriage’ has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, should abide by and agree to this Statement on Marriage and Sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly.

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with scripture nor the doctrines of the church.

We shall extend the right hand of fellowship to all ministers, evangelists, and missionaries who are living a consistent Christian life and preaching the born-again experience; and to all believers of like precious faith. It is our desire to unite God’s people together in the bond of peace and unity for the furtherance of the blessed Gospel of Christ.

We believe our government is ordained of God, and we are grateful that the Constitution’ of the United States of America secures the rights to worship God and educate our children according to the dictates of our conscience.
